Experiments With The 4-Hour Workweek
It all started with a single VA (virtual assistant) in India.
Tim Ferriss writes that you should try to outsource something right away to get the feeling for it.
My first task involved that the VA should call my hairdresser and book an appointment for me. While this seems like a silly idea (I mean… how much time could I save, would it not be easier for me to just call the hairdresser myself?!), it was actually a test.
I needed to know if the VA could talk with my Danish hairdresser that might not be the best at English.
So I created a Skype account for him to use and granted him access to my Google Calendar with the instructions to book me an appointment in the following week. The VA did it with no problem and my hairdresser didn’t even comment on getting a call from a guy in India
I currently use VMG BPO which I cannot praise enough! They cost me 6$ an hour and I have not been let down a single time. I use them for research, proofreading, support and a lot of small tasks that would otherwise take up alot of my time.
Besides my team in India, I also have a Russian IT company helping me with implementing Magento webshops for my new company Get A Shop. I cannot mention their name due to my competition, but up until now they have really done a great job.
My newest venture is hiring a full time guy at the Philippines. He starts working for me the first of July, and I’m really looking forward to it. I will of course update this blog with my experiences
So this was a bit about my current outsourcing setup, later on I plan a post about how I hire people.

I am in the IT business and saw that some of the stuff Tim mentioned in his book, was clearly possible. And while I will never be as hardcore as Tim is, there were certainly ideas in the book that I could see myself using.
This blog is all about my experiments with Living The Four Hour Work Week - although my weeks are currently longer :)
