Experiments With The 4-Hour Workweek
As mentioned previously I hired my first guy in the Philippines a couple of weeks ago.
Now it is time for paying him (I pay him bi-monthly).
While it is really easy paying people or companies you hire on Elance, since they have the whole payment thing integrated in their process, it s more of a challenge when you don’t have this system in place.
I have decided to use Xoom.com as they can deliver the money in different ways. My guy can either pick up the money in different locations in the Philippines, he can get it wired to his account, or Xoom.com can make a home delivery (in certain areas). This is quite flexible and only cost me $10 to do (or rather $9.99).
Now I don’t have much experience with Xoom, they seem quite professional.
When paying my Russian development team (doing webshops for me), I use Payoneer as per their request. It has worked fine the times I’ve sent money, although I was a bit scared the other day, where their whole site was down when I should have made a payment. Don’t get me wrong, I think their service can be ok even though they have some downtime, I just don’t like it for websites where I should do transactions with real money

Hi, my name is Rasmus and I live in Denmark. In January 2008 I read the book
I am in the IT business and saw that some of the stuff Tim mentioned in his book, was clearly possible. And while I will never be as hardcore as Tim is, there were certainly ideas in the book that I could see myself using.
This blog is all about my experiments with Living The Four Hour Work Week - although my weeks are currently longer :)
