Experiments With The 4-Hour Workweek
I just wanted to share a website I recently found. Not sure why I haven’t found it sooner.
It is a great site for those of you who haven’t outsourced before and just want to take a spin without investing more than… well 5 US$.
The site is Fiverr. All tasks cost 5 bucks.
Some examples:
I will setup a wordpress blog for you for $5
I will invite my 5000 facebook friend on your fan page for $5
I will research your legal issue and provide you 5 cases on point for $5
I will record an excellent, professional voiceover for you for $5
(notice: the offers were there when I created the post, they may not be there when you read this, they are just examples of what to expect).

Hi, my name is Rasmus and I live in Denmark. In January 2008 I read the book
I am in the IT business and saw that some of the stuff Tim mentioned in his book, was clearly possible. And while I will never be as hardcore as Tim is, there were certainly ideas in the book that I could see myself using.
This blog is all about my experiments with Living The Four Hour Work Week - although my weeks are currently longer :)

I found out through repeatedly trial and error over the last year that when I outsource, I do not want the cheapest offer. The solutions I got from 5 different projects was from poorly qualified workers and required a lot of modifications/iterations and discussions or did not meet the requirements at all.
After too many of those experiences, I now pay a fair medium range price. I never go “penny pinching” over small issues and pay promptly if I need extra things done. The result is that I get what I want within time and within budget from my providers and I can always reach them (important!).
There is no such thing as a free lunch. But if you stumble across a cheap offer that actually delivers, I’d surely like to know.
Best regards,
Pål

I haven’t tried that site yet (was aware of it though) but it sounds promising to get a logo for $5. Even if I have to order 10, it would still be cheap.

@Pål: Well, I have actually had success on fiverr with outsourcing both a bit of traffic generation and link building.
There are several in there that charges 5 bucks for creating something like 5-30 quality backlinks on high PR sites.
I could do this myself, but I am simply to lazy.

I’ve just hired my first copy writer. 5 $ for a 300 word article with focus on SEO, the quality can’t be that good

@Lars: Well compared with I got an 90 page ebook written for 250$ (which was excellent in terms of quality), you should be able to find a decent writer for 5$ per article. I also believe that there are several writers on elance that will work at this price. It’s just about finding the right writer. I found my writer in the third go.
